La mia vita in due parole…

Sono un tecnico ed un imprenditore, nato nel 1971 con una passione per i videogiochi. Ho iniziato a programmare i computer dall’età di 12 anni, sotto lo sguardo incredulo di tutti (all’epoca non era così normale), quando nel mondo ancora non c’era internet (almeno non in italia): le BBS ed Itapac erano le uniche (meravigliose) scelte. All’età di 13 anni ho anche iniziato una vita parallela nel mondo della musica: ho iniziato con la fisarmonica, il flauto dolce/soprano, poi la “vihuela” messicana, il pianoforte, la chitarra elettrica. Con il mio gruppo di musica messicana abbiamo girato molti paesi, come Italia, Spagna, Francia, Grecia, Iran, Iraq, e Messico, ed abbiamo suonato ad oltre un centinaio di eventi e concerti. Con il mio gruppo rock, i “Divae”, abbiamo fatto una decina di concerti in italia, abbiamo prodotto il nostro CD, e nel 2023 siamo stati nominati da diverse riviste del settore come una delle top 10 migliori band rock-progressive relative a quegli anni (1993/1995).

All’età di 19 anni, quando ancora non avevo finito neanche il liceo, insegnavo programmazione industriale (Symantec Step-5 in modalità AWL) ai laureati in ingegneria a Roma presso la sede Enel di Piramide (ora Acea). All’età di 20 anni ho scritto l’80% dei software che gestivano tutte le centrali di sollevamento delle acque a Roma, e negli anni successivi ho scritto centinaia di applicazioni windows, alcune con robotic-vision (ad esempio per il riconoscimento real-time delle targhe automobilistiche, tutt’ora attivi, incredibilmente, presso alcuni ministeri in Italia).

Nella mia carriera ho lavorato come consulente per oltre 60 aziende, incluso per le Nazioni Unite, l’ENAC, la TELECOM, l’ACEA, ed ho scritto diversi articoli tecnici per diverse riviste del settore (Jackson, Mondadori), ed anche per la Microsoft, per la quale ho sviluppato anche una piccola parte di “Internet Explorer 4”. Nel corso degli anni mi sono occupato anche di assemblaggio di PC, di assemblaggio di Server, di gestione di database, di reti aziendali e di attività sistemistiche. Ho studiato diversi linguaggi di programmazione (circa una ventina), ed ho insegnato alcuni di questi a diverse aziende in ambito nazionale ed internazionale. Ho iniziato come libero professionista, ed ho successivamente aperto aziende con cui offrivo servizi di web hosting e di sviluppo software.

Ho sviluppato tanti siti web con diverse tecnologie nel corso degli anni, ho sviluppato applicazioni per cellulare passando per diverse tecnologie e mode, realizzato applicazioni per la gestione di call-center, applicazioni per la sicurezza (tra cui sistemi di videosorveglianza distribuita in più punti in tutta italia), e giochi. Oltre ad avere aperto le mie società, sono anche stato socio di diverse società, in diversi ambiti, e in diversi paesi, nel corso degli anni. Mi sono anche affacciato nel mondo delle crypto, sviluppando alcune crypto-monete per conto di clienti. Ultimamente, sono passato all’uso dell’intelligenza artificiale all’interno di sofisticati sistemi in grado di interagire e risolvere problemi complessi.

Come consulente IT e sviluppatore, ho lavorato in diverse nazioni tra cui Olanda, Svezia, Spagna, Cuba, Argentina.

Nel 2014 ho lasciato l’Italia a causa dell’eccessiva pressione fiscale e della totale assenza di servizi, e mi sono spostato a vivere a Malta, dove pagavo un infinitesimo di tasse. Poi i tempi sono cambiati anche a Malta: i costi delle case, i problemi con la diffidenza delle banche, ed una serie di problemi collaterali mi hanno spinto a lasciare l’isola (e uno dei miei migliori amici) per spostarmi a vivere, nel 2022, in Spagna, dove sono tutt’ora.  Oggi ho totalmente lasciato il mondo della musica, ho lasciato il mondo delle consulenze, e dopo tanti anni di durissimo lavoro e stress, ho finalmente trovato un equilibrio. Non corro più dietro a mille obiettivi, ma mi godo i frutti di quanto costruito. Continuo a lavorare su ciò che amo, mentre coltivo la mia passione per le arti marziali, il tai chi e lo xing-yi, e condivido ogni momento con la mia amata moglie. Ora vivo con la serenità di chi ha percorso la propria strada, e posso finalmente godermi il viaggio, mano nella mano con la persona che amo, senza più l’ansia del risultato.

My Life in a Few Words…

I am a technician and entrepreneur, born in 1971 with a passion for video games. I started programming computers at the age of 12, under the incredulous eyes of those around me (it wasn’t that common back then), at a time when the internet didn’t yet exist (at least not in Italy): BBS and Itapac were the only (wonderful) options. Throughout my career, I’ve worked as a consultant for over 60 companies, including the United Nations, ENAC, TELECOM, ACEA, and have written numerous technical articles for various industry magazines (Jackson, Mondadori), and also for Microsoft, for which I developed a small part of “Internet Explorer 4.” Over the years, I’ve dealt with PC assembly, server assembly, database management, corporate networks, and system administration. I’ve studied several programming languages (around twenty), and I’ve taught some of them to various companies at both national and international levels.

At the age of 19, while I was still in high school, I taught industrial programming (Symantec Step-5 in AWL mode) to engineering graduates at the Enel headquarters in Rome (now Acea). At 20, I wrote 80% of the software that managed all the water pumping stations in Rome, and in the following years, I developed hundreds of Windows applications, some with robotic vision (such as real-time recognition of license plates, which are still in use today, incredibly, by several ministries in Italy).

I began my career in Italy with a small VAT number, which later became a sole proprietorship. Then I founded a partnership company (s.n.c.) where I dealt with web hosting and software development, which was eventually turned into an LLC (S.r.l.) and later dissolved when I decided to leave the country. Over the years, I’ve developed many websites using different technologies, mobile applications that evolved through various trends, applications for managing call centers, security applications (including distributed video surveillance systems throughout Italy), and even games. I’ve been a partner in several companies, in various fields, and in different countries, over the years. I’ve also ventured into the crypto world, developing some cryptocurrencies on behalf of clients. Later, I transitioned into using artificial intelligence within sophisticated systems capable of interacting and solving complex problems.

As an IT consultant and developer, I’ve worked in various countries, including the Netherlands, Sweden, Spain, Cuba, and Argentina. At the age of 13, I also began a parallel life in the world of music: I started with the accordion, the recorder/soprano flute, then the Mexican vihuela, piano, and electric guitar. With my Mexican music band, we toured many countries, including Italy, Spain, France, Greece, Iran, Iraq, and Mexico, performing at over a hundred events and concerts. With my rock band, “Divae,” we held about ten concerts in Italy, produced our own CD, and recently we were named by several industry magazines as one of the top 10 best progressive rock bands of that era (1993).

I left Italy in 2014 due to excessive taxation and the total lack of services, moving to Malta, where I paid a fraction of the taxes. But times changed in Malta too: rising housing costs, issues with banks’ mistrust, and a series of collateral problems pushed me to leave the island (and one of my best friends) and move to Spain in 2022, where I currently live. Today, I’ve completely left the world of music, I’ve left the world of consulting, and I’ve let go of all my clients (some even with regret). After so many years of hard work, I’ve finally found balance. I no longer chase a thousand goals but enjoy the fruits of what I’ve built. I continue working on what I love, while cultivating my passion for martial arts, tai chi, and xing-yi, and sharing every moment with my beloved wife. Now, I live with the serenity of someone who has walked their own path, and I can finally enjoy the journey, hand in hand with the person I love, without the anxiety of results.
